With Bourneville Furniture Group's commitment to NZ youth & families, and to living safer, what better place too be associated with that contributes to all of our commitments, than Piha Surf Life Saving Club.

Over the last several years we have provided both financial and physical assistance, again with Mark Bourneville playing an active hands on part within the daily beach safety activities to ensure safety and health to the Youth and Families of New Zealand.

From its initial development as a rescue boat, to the more modern use as a surf sports event. With equal measures of talent, strength, bravery and sheer bloody-mindedness it takes a special group of people to be Piha Boaties. Witness the lengths these crews go to as they face enormous surf head on and attack it with vigour.

The Boaties have long been a favourite with the viewers of Piha Rescue where the thrills and spills of the annual Piha Big Wave Classic are captured to great effect. Held in late February the Big Wave Classic has become a fixture on the NZ Boatie calendar and is the jewel in the crown of the Trillian Trust Surf Boat Series.
